Cleaning & Polishing
Post-weld cleaning and polishing calls for specialised non-woven abrasives that remove contaminants, mill scale, and discolouration without altering the surface profile or gouging the base metal. Standard grinding wheels are too aggressive and can damage the finish, while wire brushes may embed carbon particles that cause rust.
The process has two stages: heavy-duty pre- and post-weld cleaning, then surface blending and mirror polishing.
